Christ-Centered character and Leadership development in japan
“The single best way to develop leaders is to take people out of their safe environment and away from the people they know, and throw them into a new arena they know little about. Way over their head, preferably.
In fact, the more demanding their challenges, the more pressure and risk they face, the more likely a dynamic leader will emerge.”
The Dream Giver, Bruce Wilkinson
FAR East Project
Leadership and Character Development for Youths
A mile-high overview
The Far East Project is a 7-14 day Christian leadership formation program for young men aged 18 to 22 (open enrollment). We believe the most effective way to develop leaders is to place them in an unfamiliar environment and give them real responsibility for a real mission. You and your team will live and serve together in Japan for two weeks. Leadership isn't a title; it's a form of stewardship that rotates. Each participant takes a turn leading the group, exercising authority under Christ. When you lead, you make the calls. When you follow, your job is to make your leader successful, honoring the role God has given them. As a leader, you are held accountable for the outcomes, period.
To build a biblical framework, you will complete mandatory pre-trip readings designed to integrate scripture with practice. The program itself is where you put those principles into motion under real-world pressure. We run the program in Japan because it’s safe and the systems work. This environment removes excuses and forces you to take ownership of your actions. Here, integrity and humility aren't just virtues—they are essential to serving your team and glorifying God in all you do.
